I aim for comfort, safety, and support for both partners and want to ensure we’re a good fit for each other. I’ve worked with countless couples who have worked, unsuccessfully, with other therapists and upon giving it another chance, have created beautiful connections to their partners. Just as there are many fish in the sea, you want to find a good fit. I offer free consultations to discuss your needs and provide space to answer any questions you may have.

The cost of divorce totals an average of $12-15k and would be drastically more draining (emotionally, mentally, financially) than couples therapy. In addition, building a healthier and more connected relationship creates better stability for your family, improves your immune system, decreases stress hormones, and can improve your lifespan! Children witness how you connect and will follow in your step, so making a change early on will have a positive impact to the generations following you.

The duration of therapy differs for each couple due to individual circumstances and goals. At times, some couples exceed their goals, and then transition to new ones. For initial goals, it is usually around 12 sessions, which will gradually move from weekly to bi-weekly or monthly sessions for maintenance. There may be times when we have more frequent, or less frequent sessions, and this recommendation would be discussed in greater detail during our first session.
-
I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which has over 2 decades of empirical research showing that 70-75% of couples move from distress to thriving AND around 90% display substantial progress within 8-20 couples’ sessions! At my core, I'm an intuitive and emotionally attuned therapist who uses these skills to support your goals together.

Item descriptionGreat question — and it depends on what you’re needing right now. Weekly therapy is best for couples looking for consistent support, gradual progress, and space to build skills over time. A customized intensive is ideal if you’re feeling stuck, on the brink of disconnection, or just want to make meaningful progress fast.
Intensives give you dedicated time (typically 3-4 hours for first-time clients) to deeply explore patterns, reconnect emotionally, and walk away with a clear path forward. They also include a 90-minute pre-assessment to make the most of our time together.
If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out — I’ll help guide you toward the best fit based on your goals and what’s going on in your relationship right now.

I am an out-of-network provider and am not contracted with insurance. However, you may provide invoice(s) directly to your insurance provider if you plan to request reimbursement.
I have found that insurance creates barriers to the level of care I can provide my clients, including how much time we can spend in session, how much insurance will pay, limits to confidentiality, insurance requiring a diagnosis, and additional paperwork, etc.— all of which limits our work together. I appreciate my clients being in control of their treatment and wholeheartedly seek to optimize couples’ autonomy while maintaining privacy. At Couples Haven, you are in complete control of your treatment. Additionally, research has found that private pay clients have more positive outcomes than those who receive free treatment— making us a good fit for deep work together! -
During our work together, my attention is devoted entirely to you. I limit how many clients I serve at any time to ensure I can allocate time and energy to you on the day(s) we’ve selected together. Rather than viewing couples therapy being “another expense,” I recognize that it’s an investment of time, energy, and commitment to enhance the quality of life with your partner for the long haul. YOUR relationship is a worthwhile investment. Ultimately, this is a personal decision to outweigh the costs and benefits that couples therapy can provide to your quality of life. The feedback I often get from clients is they wish they had invested in their relationship sooner!

I accept all major credit cards, as well as HSA/FSA cards. I’m also fully approved to accept CareCredit for all services. These forms of payment are processed through your secure client portal, just like a standard credit card. Please note that an up-to-date credit card must be kept on file at all times. To explore whether CareCredit is a good fit for you or your family (yes, even your pets!), you can apply directly or learn more here.

I kindly ask for 24-hour notice for cancellations, as your appointment time is reserved just for you. Any cancellation within 24 hours of your scheduled session will result in late cancellation fee, which is the total cost of the session. That said, I understand that life happens. To offer flexibility, you have two options to waive the cancellation fee:
One-time waiver: Every 12-months, you get one no-questions-asked cancellation waiver. Just let me know you'd like to use it.
Rescheduling option: If we can find a new time within the same business week, the fee is waived.
Couples Intensives
A 50% deposit will be due upon reserving your intensive date(s) to hold the spot specifically for you. The remaining balance is due the day prior to the intensive. If you decide to cancel within 7-days prior to your scheduled date, the remainder of your fee will NOT be charged. Your options would be to receive a refund of your deposit or reschedule. If you cancel within 24-hours of the intensive, the remainder of your balanced owed will be processed with the card on file. In this event, your entire payment would be applied rescheduled within the next 30 days.

My office is located at 1701 First Baxter Crossing, Suite 201 F, Fort Mill, SC 29708. It is conveniently located in Baxter Village, right off I-77 with access to gas stations, Starbucks, and various restaurants.
For intensive packages, I often recommend clients consider getting a hotel and making it a retreat! There’s nothing like a getaway to to disconnect from technology, daily obligations and distractions, and reconnect with your partner on a deeper level to get the most out of your intensive experience. -
I’m licensed to provide therapy in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. This means that all clients participating in a session must be physically located in one of these three states at the time of the session, whether meeting virtually or in person.

Babies under 9 months are welcomed! I work with parents of all stages and frequently have parents with young babies in sessions (often nursing!). I understand that childcare isn’t always an option and situations may unexpectedly arise. For babies 10+ months and children, I recommend having support with childcare so that we can focus on our sessions without distraction. If needed, we can move to virtual sessions to accommodate your family's needs.
